About this calculator

Method, formulas, and limits.

What this does

Converts between hourly wages and annual salaries in both directions. Includes overtime hours with a custom multiplier, annual bonuses or commissions, and a full pay-period breakdown (monthly, biweekly, weekly, hourly).

Who it is for

Job seekers comparing salary vs hourly offers, employees negotiating raises or overtime policies, freelancers annualizing their rates, and HR staff preparing offer letters.

How it works

Hourly to salary: annual = hourly × hours/week × weeks/year, plus overtime (hourly × multiplier × OT hours × weeks) and bonus. Salary to hourly: hourly = (salary − bonus) ÷ (hours/week × weeks/year), then bonus is added back into the equivalent rate.

Limitations

Gross figures only — no taxes, benefits, or deductions. Assumes consistent hours every week and does not account for unpaid time off.

Key calculations

Annual from hourly
annual = hourly × hours/week × weeks/year
Overtime
overtime annual = hourly × multiplier × OT hours/week × weeks/year
Hourly from annual
hourly = (salary − bonus) ÷ (hours/week × weeks/year)
